Control of thoughts and feelings maintains physical health. The body is usually calm and healthy when the mind and feelings are also calm and neutral. If you already have a good lifestyle with good food and supplements and you are of a healthy constitution, then most of your symptoms are probably related to emotional stress.

Hindsight. Looking back at old troubles that no longer bother you or have any effect on you can help you view your present troubles in the same way – they too will pass. Trust vs. Control

Being sick is a big problem.  There is a lot of fear involved. We are disconnected from nature and our bodies, which we no longer understand. We worry, our mind generates horrible scenarios.

We run to the doctor, we get a diagnosis but little hope, just more questions, more fears.

So we look into alternative medicine but it feels strange and intimidating. We feel isolated and confused. Our mind just spins and spins trying in vain to control the situation.And on it goes.

Alternative medicine offers new solutions but it also pushes us beyond our comfort zone. After all, none of the standard solutions worked. We need to look in places we have not thought of before.

The problem is that the rational mind questions everything and demands answers that fit into its own preconceived patterns and criteria. For healing to happen, we need to quiet this mind, the doubts and apprehensions, our natural tendency to shrink away from change.

Missing the Point

We have been lost for a while and we are missing the point of healing, big time. We think we know what holistic healing is for, and we don’t. It has become a phrase without meaning.

Many people are doing one type of healing work or another.
Natural is IN, Organic is IN… And we work at it. With grim determination. Boring diets and fistfuls of supplements are no fun, but they pay off so we…work at it. And why do we go to all that trouble in the first place?

Isn’t it obvious? So we can feel good, thrive and have a great life!

When it is too late

In fact, it is not as obvious as it seems. I have found that most people focus on their health after they get sick. Before that they sort of knew about it, procrastinated and didn’t really get around to it much. Illness sends them into a flurry of activity, as if doing massive amounts of herbs and therapies can quickly compensate for years of neglect.
